Con-way Freight Puts Brakes on Alleged Terrorist Print E-mail

Orders for possible bomb components aroused suspicion

Compiled from News Sources

The Journal of Commerce and other publications have headlined an alert American trucking company for helping subvert a terrorist plot.

Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari has been arrested for allegedly plotting to build chemical bombs and then detonate them at power plants and even the Dallas home of former president George W. Bush.

Officials from Carolina Biological Supply of Burlington, NC, queried Aldawsari about his purchase a couple of weeks ago. He subsequently canceled the order with Carolina Biological Supply, but, according to arrest documents, sought out and ordered the other chemicals which can be used in making bombs. FedEx and Con-way Freight all called law enforcement regarding their suspicions when a package turned up for Aldawsari, a 20-year-old Saudi Arabia native attending college outside Lubbock, Texas.

Con-way Freight called Lubbock police and the FBI on the same day once a package containing the chemicals was received at the office. The package was addressed to Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari. FedEx was also working with the FBI to trace the shipment of the package from North Carolina to Texas.

The FBI has charged Aldawsari with attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction.
